About the Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will prepare design drawings and calculations for sprinkler and high/low pressure water mist systems. You'll be responsible for ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, producing technical documentation, and providing expert advice to both customers and internal teams. Produce BIM/Revit models and AutoCAD drawings. Complete documentation including certification and design drawings. Provide technical guidance and support to customers and colleagues. Systems Used Sprinklers Sem-Safe VID Firekill Person Specification Skilled in sprinkler and water mist design to BS EN 12845, BS 8489, FM5560 standards. Knowledge of compliance with LPCB / NFPA codes of practice. LPCB Sprinkler Certification preferred. Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit. CSCS/ECS Card holder preferred. Solid engineering background with strong technical and practical knowledge of water-based fire protection systems. In-depth understanding of British and European Standards relating to fire protection. IT proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Flexible with working hours, with ability to travel within the UK and Europe. Capable of working independently, with strong problem-solving ability. Confident communicator, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and develop. Full, clean UK driving licence essential.
