Qatar Airways is recruiting for an Aircraft Mechanic to join our team at London Heathrow. The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for delivering aircraft maintenance services in London to support operational requirements under the supervision of the Station Maintenance Manager. This role ensures all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with company and customer procedures and supplied aircraft maintenance data.
Operational Responsibilities include:
1. Performing scheduled and unscheduled tasks on QR or customer aircraft following maintenance data and procedures.
2. Advising and assisting Engineers on aircraft and technical documentation to ensure accurate and timely record entry.
3. Following all Health and Safety standards and regulations, and ensuring colleagues adhere to these.
4. Ensuring all equipment and tools are serviceable before use.
5. Maintaining ground support equipment, ensuring cleanliness and serviceability, and returning it to its original location after tasks.
6. Inspecting aircraft, engines, or components for cracks, leaks, or damage.
7. Servicing, cleaning, and performing maintenance tasks on aircraft components.
8. Providing support for AOG situations at LHR and operational requirements in Qatar Airways' regions, including travel for aircraft recovery.
9. Performing line maintenance services for customer airlines as per contractual agreements, complying with customer procedures.
10. Maintaining the line store according to QR requirements.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
* A relevant Vocational, Tertiary, or Trade Qualification from a recognized Aeronautical/Technical College.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic, including at least 3 years working on modern jet aircraft.
Key Requirements:
* Experience working on aircraft types operated by Qatar Airways.
* Deep knowledge of aircraft maintenance fundamentals, with the ability to perform duties independently.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Strong communication skills suitable for a multicultural environment.
* Ability to work under high pressure in a 24/7 shift pattern.
* Good operational and tactical decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
