About the Role:
Wiltshire Police are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Coordinator to be part of an integral team dealing with prioritisation of the safety of Domestic Abuse survivors and their children.
You will work closely with the Domestic Abuse Disclosure Specialists, operating within a multi-agency framework consisting of Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC), and the Multi Agency Tasking and Coordination (MATAC) group.
Successful applicants will have the ability to present well-structured cases in settings such as professional, criminal and civil proceedings. They will also have an understanding of risk in relation to domestic abuse enabling them to support the Force in identifying high risk victims and perpetrators. They will submit, review and present cases at MARAC and MATAC targeting serial perpetrators of domestic abuse and providing safeguarding actions and advice to the Chairs in partnership with other stakeholders.
In this role, your main responsibilities will be:
* Provide support, advice and expertise in relation to the safeguarding opportunities, policy and procedure and legislation available for incidents involving high risk survivors of domestic abuse and their children.
* Provide practical support, expertise and advice to a wide range of external agencies and bodies.
* Identify and complete referrals and submit to the partner agencies on behalf of the police for allocation.
* Provide advice and expertise to colleagues preparing Domestic Violence Protection Notice / Orders (DVPN) applications for authorisation.
* Liaise closely with the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (DVDS) Coordinator by sharing completed research and intelligence checks.
* Where appropriate ensure victims of domestic abuse are referred to outside agencies for support and advice, review and ensure that appropriate protective measures are in place.
Skills, experience and qualifications required:
* Previous experience of report writing
* Previous experience of conducting research
* Working within an environment of dealing with the public
* Experience in working within a multi-agency environment with a variety of different agencies.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
* Evidence of ability to work effectively within a team
* Ability to evidence self-motivation, self-management and decision making skills
