Job Title: Subcontract Manager
Location: Faslane with Hybrid Working Arrangements
Compensation: Up to £56, + Benefits

The role
As a Subcontract Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As part of the Fleet Programme organisation, the Subcontract Manager will have overall accountability, governance for the supply chain design, execution, and performance of sub contract services for all Fleet programmes / project(s) across Clyde.

Day-to-day, you’ll be establishing project requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline. You’ll design and lead the engagement of supply chains that meet programme requirements. You’ll be also supporting the delivery of project objectives through the rigorous management of contract and supplier performance.

1. Assuring Supplier Performance to time, cost and quality for contract requirements against scope of supplier responsibility
2. Establishing process mechanism and control procedures for Project Management compliance throughout the Project life cycle
3. Establishing appropriate management information to support regular senior management reviews inclusive of key performance indices

This role is full time (36 hours) Monday to Thursday and will be based at one of our locations: Faslane, Hamilton, or Glasgow. The role offers hybrid working arrangements.


Essential experience of the Subcontract Manager

4. Experienced procurement practitioner with deep knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques and (Relevant experience in Sourcing & Procurement)
5. Extensive experience working in complex project environments.
6. Proven track record of delivering excellent supply chain performance.
7. High quality communication ability, both written and orally.
8. Deep understanding of contract terms and conditions and the ability to draft subcontract terms including management of flow-down terms from customer contracts.
9. Deep understanding of planning and implementing supply arrangements, managing supplier performance and scheduling of deliveries.
10. Demonstrable understanding of cost models, for example in relation to the NEC models, familiarity with accounting practices, commercial audits, forecasting and valuations and supplier costing models.
11. Delivery focussed with a pragmatic, hands-on approach that enables strategies to be fully executed.
12. Able to work in cross functional teams and manage senior stakeholders in an operational environment

Qualifications for the Subcontract Manager

13. Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
