Fundraising Assistant

Location: Lewes

Salary: A£24,000 - A£25,000 per annum FTE (25 hours A£16,302 pro rata - A£16,900 pro rata)

Are you ready to kickstart your career in fundraising and gain experience across all income streams while working with an exceptional team?



The Role


This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to gain experience across all fundraising income streams before developing into a specialist area. You'll join an experienced and professional fundraising team as they grow income, awareness, and connections within their local community.

For the right candidate, professional training and development in fundraising will be considered. You'll also have the chance to work onsite at their state-of-the-art facilities, making a real impact on the lives of children living with complex disabilities.



What You'll Be Doing:


Be the first point of contact for their dynamic fundraising team, building relationships with donors and corporate partners. Support fundraisers with impactful research, donor engagement, database management, and event involvement.



Key Responsibilities

1. Managing the fundraising inbox and calendar.
2. Acting as the main contact for enquiries (phone, email, visitors, online forms).
3. Processing incoming funds and sending heartfelt thanks to donors.
4. Coordinating fundraising resources and managing bookings.
5. Conducting prospect and market research.
6. Maintaining up-to-date Mailchimp and newsletter contacts.
7. Assisting with the preparation and delivery of fundraising events, including bucket collections and talks.
8. Representing the Foundation at events and sourcing raffle/auction prizes from local businesses.
9. Supporting the team with day-to-day admin and meeting coordination.



Skills and Qualifications


Essential:
1. GCSE Grade D or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
2. Strong customer care and relationship-building skills.
3. Excellent record-keeping and administration skills.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficiency with CRM databases and MS Office.
6. Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends (with time off in lieu).

Desirable:
1. Experience in a fundraising charity.
2. Familiarity with data protection practices.
3. Strong problem-solving skills.
