Job Description
The Global Programmes Contracting and Commercial Management Excellence Lead (C&C Lead) is responsible for defining and integrating Contracting and Commercial Capabilities within Global Programmes and leading their application across all Commercial Markets and the Americas. This role aims to enhance contract lifecycle management, improve risk mitigation, and optimise commercial outcomes during project execution.
The C&C Lead is a senior professional role providing specialist support to embedded resources in commercial/contract and project/programme management roles, contributing to the Programme Excellence Centre (PEC).
The role's duties include:
1. Developing and implementing standardised contract management processes within the PEC.
2. Introducing commercial best practices to improve project financial and risk management.
3. Establishing governance frameworks for contract compliance and performance tracking.
4. Providing training on contract negotiation, risk assessment, and commercial decision-making.
5. Evaluating organisational structures to identify skills gaps and recommending development initiatives.
6. Leading training delivery to enhance team capabilities.
7. Developing guidelines for monitoring contract performance and obligations.
8. Supporting contract management during project execution, resolving issues, claims, and disputes.
9. Engaging stakeholders across sales, legal, procurement, and finance to ensure alignment and maximize value.
10. Benchmarking industry standards and implementing best-in-class contract management approaches.
11. Promoting disciplined project and commercial practices and contributing to colleague development.
12. Ensuring compliance with company policies on Ethics, Health, Safety, and Environment.
13. Supporting business change initiatives, including the development of the Commercial Lifecycle Process.
Qualifications include an internationally recognized professional qualification in Commercial/Contract management and a degree in Business, Law, or Project Management is desirable.
Knowledge required encompasses contract law, risk management, negotiation, project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile), and familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools.
Skills include extensive experience in contract and commercial management, strong communication, analytical skills, and leadership capabilities.
