Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location: York
Shift: Days, Monday to Friday
On-call: 1 week in every 3
Salary: Up to £55,000 including on-call payments
An established, well invested manufacturing business in the York area is looking to appoint a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to strengthen its day-based engineering team. This is a hands-on role supporting a critical production environment, offering strong earning potential, stability and long term development.
This position will suit an engineer who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and being a key part of keeping a site running safely and efficiently.
The role
You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant and machinery to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation, minimising downtime and supporting production output.
Key responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on plant and process equipment
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
Support continuous operation of the site by reducing breakdowns and downtime
Work closely with the Technical Manager and wider engineering team on repairs and planning activities
Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within work areas
Follow feed safety and site safety protocols at all times, escalating issues where required
Participate in an on-call rota, providing engineering cover outside standard hours
About you
Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer within manufacturing, process or industrial environments
Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
Safety focused, methodical and professional in approach
Comfortable working independently and as part of a close knit site team
Flexible and reliable, with a proactive attitude to maintenance and improvement
