Head of Unsecured Lending & Payments Technology We are seeking a dynamic technology leader to head our Unsecured Lending & Payments Technology division. Serving 14.8 million customers across HSBC UK, first direct, M&S Bank, and HSBC Innovation Banking, you'll drive the strategic, technical, and operational leadership of multiple lending technology platforms and manage key third-party vendor relationships. This director-level position shapes and executes the technology strategy for Unsecured Lending and Payments, leading transformation and customer-focused innovation. As a member of the UK Technology senior leadership team, the role influences at ExCo level, ensuring technology underpins HSBC's business growth and market leadership. Key Responsibilities: Own and deliver the technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities. Lead a team of c.280 FTE, fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture. Champion modern engineering practices (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, automation). Oversee multi-million-pound budgets and ensure robust risk and compliance management. Partner with senior stakeholders to deliver innovative, customer-centric digital products. About You: Proven technology leadership, adept at driving strategic change within complex, matrixed organizations. Deep expertise in DevOps and software engineering, with hands-on experience leading teams and driving transformation using agile at-scale methods and DevOps tools. Strong commercial acumen and operational management skills. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities. Solid understanding of Retail Banking Account & Savings product offerings.
