What's involved with this role: QAD 1739/1004 Role: EC&I Engineering Manager – Facility Design Contract Length: Anticipated 18 months Location: Reading, West Berkshire (hybrid working – 3 days per week on site and 2 days WFH) Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate We are seeking a Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineer to be responsible for ensuring that control and instrumentation systems meet rigorous standards of performance and reliability. From designing and implementing control strategies to troubleshooting complex issues, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of engineering projects. Key accountabilities: Ensure that the Engineering Requirements are suitable & appropriate Recommend the budget and programme, to the Senior Engineering Manager, to deliver design. Assess the suitability of engineering design resources to execute facility design. Ensure adequate competency and competency records. Lead, drive, communicate and deliver Facility Designs, with due regard to safety, quality, schedule, cost effectiveness and lifetime value for money. Maintain oversight of the facility design as it develops via routine reviews. Deliver, to the SEM, design solutions that meet business needs, functional performance, through life performance and is licensable and deliverable. Manage the Design Intent and Design Information Configuration from inception through to project handover. Essential: EC&I engineering background. Multidiscipline experience (desirable) Excellent stakeholder management skills Experience within a highly regulated industry Ability to capture engineering requirements Ability to produce technical documentation and specifications.
