The primary role of the Sustainability Scheme Manager is to support the Carbon & Sustainability Services Director in building a successful team, overseeing activities, ensuring compliance, and expanding our sustainability services. The role involves engaging with clients and the wider sustainability sector, with evolving responsibilities aligned with NQA’s strategy.
This role includes working across NQA’s Carbon and Sustainability portfolio, including Chain of Custody, Supply Chain Services, and PEFC, to strengthen our market position as a leader in Carbon and Sustainability services globally.
The market is rapidly growing and changing; proactive engagement and effective management are essential. The role has direct line responsibility for four management posts.
Location: Flexible. Options include remote, on-site, or hybrid working. Willingness to travel is expected.
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in environmental, sustainability, business management, or related fields.
* At least 2 years’ certification or industry experience.
* Interest and enthusiasm for sustainability and carbon verification schemes.
* Completion of relevant Lead Auditor / Verifier courses (EMS, EnMS, GHG, CoC/Supply Chain, etc.).
Skills & Competences:
* IT literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel, customer databases).
* People management experience.
* Confident, outgoing, with excellent customer service skills.
* Self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of management standards, auditing, verification, and sustainability issues.
* Experience in the TIC industry, public speaking, and strategic thinking.
* Understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks in sustainability and TIC sectors.
