Job Description
* Strategic IT Leadership: Guide and evolve the IT Operations strategy to align with the overarching digital and business objectives, emphasising cloud adoption, IT service resilience, and cyber security.
* Cloud and Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based infrastructure environments, focusing on scalability, security, and efficiency. Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) is crucial.
* Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring minimal downtime and loss of data in emergency scenarios.
* Technical Team Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary IT operations team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.
* Vendor and Contract Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts to ensure value, performance, and alignment with IT strategy.
* IT Service Management (ITSM): Implement and refine ITSM processes in accordance with ITIL best practices, aiming for service excellence and efficiency.
* Cyber Security Collaboration: Work closely with the cybersecurity lead to embed security practices within IT operations, ensuring robust defence mechanisms against digital threats.
* Governance and Compliance: Establish governance frameworks for IT operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Facilitate audits and reviews as necessary.
* Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging methodologies such as Agile to drive innovation and efficiency within IT operations.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders across IT and the business, ensuring IT operations effectively support business needs.
The Successful Applicant

Essential:
o Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
o Proven experience in cloud computing environments, particularly Microsoft Azure, including architecture, deployment, and optimisation.
o Deep understanding of ITIL framework and best practices in IT service management.
o Strong background in disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies.
o Demonstrated leadership in managing IT operations teams and projects.
o Proficiency in contract and vendor management.
o Solid grasp of network and storage technologies.
o Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
o SC Clearance

Desirable:
o Professional certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., Azure Administrator/Architect), ITIL, or project management (PMP, PRINCE2).
o Experience in cyber security measures and tools.
o Knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices.
Skills:

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
