We are proud to be Wilmslow's community secondary school, and this means we are privileged to serve a very diverse and comprehensive range of students.

You will support student learning, achievement and development under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher: Sixth Form. The Sixth Form Student Manager will be responsible for managing the Sixth Form Learning Area functions as well as identifying and supporting vulnerable students in Years You will also play a key role in improving the behaviour, attendance and engagement of students.

Central to the post is the promotion of a high expectation culture, which pursues excellence for every student every day and the promotion of a positive team culture which celebrates both learning and achievement.

You will have an understanding of:

* The OFSTED framework, in particular around student welfare, progress and safety
* Legislation around school admissions, attendance, child protection, and safeguarding
* Multi-agency working in support of safeguarding and student welfare
* Positive behaviour management techniques, restorative approaches and solution focused language techniques

You will have:

* An ability to take responsibility and achieve success

We offer a happy and caring environment rooted in our core values, in which staff and students can flourish, whilst challenging ourselves to pursue excellence for all our students. The school is set in extensive grounds, ideally positioned between the thriving city of Manchester and the open countryside of the Peak District.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to respect this commitment. A consideration of the person's suitability to work alongside children is part of the selection process.

If invited for interview, you will be:

* asked to complete a self-declaration form answering questions in relation to any criminal record or other information that would make them unsuitable to work with children.

Holly Road, Wilmslow

Cheshire

SK9 1LZ

United Kingdom

Rated as Good by Ofsted in 2019, Wilmslow High School is heavily oversubscribed in both the 11 – 16 sector and the sixth form. Student numbers have increased with more and more students from outside the town and from the independent sector of education seeking places. Wilmslow, a pleasant commuter town with a population of about 32,000, is situated on the southern outskirts of Manchester. It is within easy reach of attractive countryside both locally and in the nearby Peak District. The town is well served by the motorway network and by rail; Manchester Airport is nearby. A wide variety of housing is available in south Manchester, Wilmslow, Macclesfield and the surrounding Cheshire countryside. The town is mixed socially, with many areas of affluence and some communities of relative social deprivation.
