Senior Support Worker - Residential Childcare (EBD)
Hours: 35 per week. Pay: GBP16/hour. Sleep-ins: GBP50/night. Annual equivalent: GBP29,120.
I'm working on behalf of a valued client to recruit an experienced Senior Support Worker for a specialist residential home supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
What You'll Do
* Lead shifts, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth daily operations
* Be the senior point of contact in incidents and offer on-call support
* Build lasting, trust-based relationships with young people
* Help staff understand and apply care plans and behaviour strategies
* Record-keeping, safeguarding, and petty cash management
* Engage in planning and attending healthcare appointments
* Support school/vocational attendance and personal growth
* Take part in home activities, trips, and holidays
Shift Pattern
* Mixture of long (15hr) and short (8hr) shifts
* Average of 35 hours/week on a rolling rota
* Sleep-in shifts required, paid at GBP50/night
* Weekend and Bank Holiday shifts included
What We're Looking For
* Experience in children's residential settings (EBD experience ideal)
* NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or similar
* UK driving licence
* Calm under pressure, good communicator, and strong team player
* Able to manage shifting priorities while keeping young people's welfare at heart
