St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated, culturally and economically diverse, and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways and Five Towns in southern Queens County and southwestern Nassau County, New York. Celebrating over 110 years of community care, the 257-bed facility provides people of all faiths with comprehensive preventive, diagnostic treatment and rehabilitative services, regardless of ability to pay.

Shift: Days

Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay: $95,000 - $110,000

Responsibilities:

* Organize, supervise, and administer the day-to-day services rendered at the Home Based Crisis Intervention Program
* Lead team organizational and clinical meetings
* Provide clinical direction to staff regarding individual cases
* Conduct side-by-side contacts with staff
* Regularly conduct individual supervision meetings
* Ensure HBCI and SJEH are represented at community functions and that community engagement is sustained
* Provide case coverage for short periods due to staffing needs
* Maintain regular supervision with program Director

Core Competencies:

* Crisis de-escalation
* Screening and assessment – screening for social determinants of health; understanding ACES; knowledge of and linkage with larger community and service systems through which to address needs
o Mental health screenings for issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD
o Trauma screens (e.g. UCLA PTSD Reaction Index Scale; ACES) or other diagnostic tools where appropriate
o Risk Screening and assessment (e.g. Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, Stanley-Brown Safety Plan)
o Substance use screening and assessment (e.g. Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment – SBIRT)
* System of care/multi-system work
* Family psychoeducation
* Clinical approaches/ treatment models that may include evidence based and promising practices such as:
o Motivational interviewing for ongoing engagement of youth and families with complex needs
o System of care; multi-systems approach to involve the active coordination of care of the child/youth and family with multidisciplinary providers, agencies, community resources and supports

Requirements:

* Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Clinical/Master’s Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist
* Experience with assessment tools and data entry software.
* Experience with Excel, Word, and electronic health records preferred.
* Good computer and organizational skills.
* Strongly compassionate and empathetic.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
