With over 250 employees in our Therapy Department, we pride ourselves on providing opportunities for professional development and growth. New team members will be supported by our band 5 trust preceptorship programme, in-house training, and specialty-specific learning. Each rotation is supervised by a designated clinical supervisor who is a specialist in that area, supporting your development towards independent practice and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Our vision is 'To provide excellent care for the communities we serve'. As part of the Therapy services team, your role in Occupational Therapy will be crucial in enabling patients to receive holistic assessments, recover, and be discharged from hospital.
We promote leadership at all levels and encourage staff to participate in service development to continually enhance patient care based on evidence-based practice. Additionally, successful candidates may have opportunities to learn from our wider Occupational Therapy team, including areas such as hand therapy, critical care, neurology, and the Macmillan integrated therapy team.
We are collaborating with therapy partners within our integrated care system to offer cross-organizational band 5 rotational opportunities in neighboring trusts providing community therapy, mental health, and specialized spinal and orthopaedic services.
All new graduates will be supported through the trust's preceptorship programme. Band 5 staff are allocated 10% of their contractual time to supporting professional activities (SPA). Clinical supervision, relevant training, and career development opportunities will also be provided.
Please see separate information for more details about our occupational therapy training, development pathway, strategy, and career progression.
