Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Probation and Parole Supervisor
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
1. Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher.
2. Three years experience in probation and parole work which includes motivating and ensuring offenders comply with terms of court imposed probation or conditions of release from a correctional facility including arrests and searches.
3. Three years experience in conducting investigations which includes conducting interviews to obtain confidential information, gathering evidence and documenting findings.
4. Three years experience in providing testimony before boards, commissions, administrative bodies or court officials.
5. Three years experience in case management which includes assessing, planning, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating options and services to meet an individuals human service needs.
6. Three years experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
7. Six months experience in narrative report writing.
8. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
9. Possession of a valid Driver’s License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Pre-employment Drug Testing: Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
