Role Overview:
As an electrical technician on GSK sites, you will be a self-starter, able to initiate, control, and complete routine and reactive maintenance to an exceptional standard. You will demonstrate true ownership and stewardship of your working areas, ensuring all works are conducted safely and facilities are kept to a very high standard. You will be required to coordinate with contractors, ensuring their compliance with safety and quality standards demanded by EMCOR UK.

What you'll do:
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure maximum efficiency, availability, and reliability of services and facilities.
* Maintain a safety-focused, professional attitude, work independently, and apply technical skills as required by the contract.
* Follow defined safe systems of work, policies, and procedures; stop work when unsafe, escalate issues, and assist in corrective actions.
* Troubleshoot electrical faults, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
* Ensure compliance with electrical regulations and safety standards.
* Provide technical support and guidance to other maintenance staff or apprentices.
* Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure safe and timely completion of tasks.
* Implement 'make safe' procedures and gather initial evidence in electrical safety incidents.
* Take ownership of electrical areas, including HV/LV substations, switch-rooms, and equipment.
* Perform duties of LV and HV Authorized Person when appointed.
* Liaise with the Helpdesk to respond to urgent maintenance requests within contracted timescales.
* Work reasonable overtime as required to support business continuity.
Resource responsibilities:
* Manage subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality compliance, issuing safety documents, and following safe systems of work.
Person Specification
Who you'll be:
* Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in electrical discipline
* BS7671 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* Experience in electrical maintenance within building service or industrial environments
* Experience in customer interactions within a service contract
* Strong communication, IT, and literacy skills
* Adherence to quality standards and regulations, preferably in Pharma
* Willing to attain and hold Authorised Person LV status
* C&G 2391-52 Inspection & Testing
* HV AP or progressing towards it, with a desire to advance further
* Involvement or leadership in continuous improvement initiatives
