Job summary
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
We are seeking to recruit a permanent Mechanical engineer to support the existing teams working within Clinical Technology. The successful applicant must have an mechanical engineering background, specifically with experience in engineering and maintenance. The successful applicant must be qualified to a minimum of HNC level, or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject andhold a valid full UK manual driving licence.
Applicants who do not have the relevant experience/qualifications may still apply and be considered for appointment as a Trainee Clinical Technologist. Training and development will be given to achieve practitioner level.
Main duties of the job
The department of Clinical Technology provides a comprehensive medical equipment management and maintenance service to the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) and external healthcare bodies. Based at both the Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital sites, the department consists of multidisciplinary teams of medical engineers, including renal, general medical, imaging, critical care and medical gasses, which provide medical equipment maintenance and support to services across the organisation and to other local healthcare providers.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with a rapidly expanding service delivering essential technical support to clinical teams while ensuring best value from the significant investment in medical equipment taking place within UHNM.
