Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Teacher of Science (Chemistry) with Responsibility to join our dynamic Science and Technology Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and innovation of Science education within a forward-thinking school committed to the ethos of the Curriculum for Wales. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching, driving improvement, and contributing to curriculum development within the Science AoLE.
The teacher with responsibility will be able to:
1. Lead on specific areas of the Science curriculum (e.g., schemes of learning, assessment materials).
2. Support colleagues by modelling outstanding pedagogy and sharing best practice.
3. Monitor learner progress in specified curriculum areas using data to identify improvements.
4. Contribute to departmental self‑evaluation and professional development activities.
5. Assist the Head of AoLE with strategic planning and curriculum innovation.
We are looking for a teacher who combines excellent classroom practice, a developing capacity for leadership, and a strong passion for Science education, particularly within Chemistry. You will be able to support a shared vision for high‑quality learning, contribute positively to the work of the Science and Technology AoLE, and play an active role in the wider life and ethos of the school. Welsh language skills are desirable, and bespoke training will be provided to support your development in line with our strategic aims should this be required.
