HGV Technician - Wednesbury, West Midlands
1. Salary: £45,000 Basic Salary
2. Hours: Full-Time (Flexible Working Hours Available)
3. Monday - Friday ONLY
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy and growing Fleet department at a modern Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU).
This role is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance across a varied fleet of heavy goods vehicles.

Key Responsibilities as an HGV Technician:
4. Carry out routine servicing, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs and commercial vehicles
5. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
6. Perform vehicle inspections, health checks, and road tests
7. Complete preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards
8. Use diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and rectify faults
9. Conduct MOT preparation work and ensure fleet compliance
10. Carry out engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical repairs
11. Maintain accurate maintenance records and job documentation
12. Ensure a clean, organised, and safe working environment
13. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maximise vehicle uptime
14. Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly to management.
About the HGV Technician:
15. Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent)
16. Proven experience working on HGVs, LGVs, or commercial vehicles
17. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
18. Excellent technical knowledge of modern commercial vehicle systems
19. Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
20. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
21. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
22. A proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
