Academic Administrator

The following section outlines a more detailed, but not exhaustive, description of the duties pertinent to this post.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure new staff and leavers are accurately processed in line with UoH and CEG processes.

* In close liaison with the Academic Director, and working in line with the Academic Director's pedagogical and QA strategy, support with the administration of quality assurance monitoring and reporting processes in the centre.

* Set up various academic staff meetings such as board meetings and Townhalls in liaison with Academic Director.

* Take minutes of various academic staff meetings such as board meetings and Townhalls.

* Set up student engagement meetings such as Student-Staff Forums and Academic Misconduct Panels in liaison with Academic Director.

* Take minutes of various student engagement meetings such as Student-Staff Forums and Academic Misconduct Panels.

* Assist with the production and communication of academic timetables.

* Support with allocation of Personal Supervisors and ensure key systems are kept updated with accurate records of role holders across the programmes.

* Administer and provide students with information around their academic journey in line with UoH processes.

* Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting on academic data.

* Assist with preparation of data and presentation of information for the student results and programme performance reporting mechanisms required in line with UoH and CEG processes.

* Support with other academic feedback sessions and regular reporting as required.

* Act as a first point of contact for timetable and academic related queries, liaising with colleagues, partners and individuals as required.

* In close liaison with the Academic Director and People Team, support with staff recruitment processes in the centre.

* Support with inducting students and teaching staff into academic systems and platforms.

* Mentor newly appointed Academic Administrators.

* Provide a focused and high level of customer service.

Person Specification

Education

HND or equivalent experiential learning

Experience

*Experience of working in a student-focused environment

*Experience of providing customer support

*Experience of working with data

*Experience of working in an education setting

*Experience of working with international students (desirable)

*Experience in the use of SITS (desirable)

Skills

*Competence in use of Microsoft Office package.

*Good level of digital literacy with ability to quickly work with and understand new digital platforms

*Ability to plan workloads and meet deadlines

*Ability to work unsupervised

*Attention to detail

*Ability to keep accurate records and to track information

*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal, written and electronic

*Ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
