Successful candidates will be offered the minimum of the pay scale and in some circumstances salary negotiations will be dependent on the demonstration of skills and experience. Job description
Our Operational Leader will be an excellent leader:
Providing visible leadership, coaching and support for their team - role modelling positive behaviours to ensure teams deliver the highest quality of customer service, whilst also providing technical knowledge.
Managing a team ensuring team performance, delivery and quality of service whilst effectively managing team dynamics and creating genuine team spirit.
Focusing on continuous improvement supporting people working towards our goals & objectives.
Communicating and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders across a range of settings.
Providing great customer service - dealing with enquiries and complaints to ensure the Companies Register is accurate and up to date.
Work with courts and other government departments.
Play your part in the management team, carrying out activities required in your role as a member of the Edinburgh and the wider Companies House leadership team.
Person specification
Were looking for a great Operational Leader with:
Excellent leadership skills involving and engaging others to ensure high performance and effective delivery of our vision and strategy.
Great communication skills - with the ability to convey messages clearly verbally and in writing, including giving evidence in court.
The ability to build capability in teams to meet current and future skill requirements.
The ability to deliver and improve operational performance - displaying enthusiastic and passionate behaviour to deliver a balance between best-in-class customer service whilst supporting improving the integrity of information on the register.
Confidence - dealing with a range of stakeholders and senior leaders, using strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
Resilience - responding positively to challenge and having the ability to adapt your communication style to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in an enforcement environment would be great, as youll have responsibility for work undertaken by the I&E team, although please apply if you dont have this, as we can train you, but wed like you to have the ability to learn at pace.

You will be aligned to our Edinburgh Office, where we are currently using a hybrid approach to the way we work. Our approach to hybrid working provides opportunities for you to be adaptable in the way you work so that you can achieve a healthy balance between your work and home life. The degree of choice you have will depend on business need, your role and your day-to-day work activities and will be discussed at offer stage. Office attendance during the training period is increased.

What will the process look like?
Well sift all applications this involves reading through them all, please bear with us as this can take some time. We may raise the score required at sift stage to progress to interview if we receive a high number of applications.
We'll sift all applications we receive at the end of July and anticipate holding interviews mid August with results shared with all candidates towards the end of August. We anticipate the successful candidate starting from late September. Please bear in mind these dates might need to change - we will keep you informed as you move through the process.
Our interviews will include Success Profiles behaviour and strength based questions.
There will be an activity as part of the interview - this will be a scenario based activity which candidates will be able to prepare on the day of their interview and will be just before their panel interview, you will then talk the interview panel through their thoughts and ideas. The scenario will be one which one of our Operational Leaders could face.
Interviews will either be virtually or in person - more details about these will be provided to candidates who are invited to interview.
