Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 2 – Speech and Language Delay Location: Eastbourne Salary Range: £89 - £100 per day (Depending on Experience) Start Time: Immediate Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Are you patient, nurturing, and skilled in supporting children with communication difficulties? GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with Speech and Language Delay in a supportive primary school in Eastbourne. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with diagnosed speech and language delay. Work alongside the class teacher and Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) to implement tailored support strategies. Assist the pupil with daily tasks, helping to build their confidence in both learning and social settings. Adapt classroom materials and instructions to suit the child’s communication needs. Use play-based, visual, and structured learning techniques to improve language and interaction. Monitor and document progress, contributing to reviews of the child’s development. Job Requirements: Experience working with children with speech and language needs or SEN. A calm, patient, and encouraging approach to learning. Strong communication and active listening skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families. Knowledge of Makaton, PECs, or visual aids is desirable. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
