About You
Your role as a Kitchen Assistant involves preparing and serving nutritious meals that residents will enjoy. You will uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, training new staff, or cleaning, your focus will always be on Resident wellbeing.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, ideally with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to obtain one. Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All staff must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and be prepared to undertake further training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.
