We have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Medical Oncology Consultant to join the Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust. The post holder will work a total of 10 PAs per week, without on‑call commitments on weekends or overnight. This is a Fixed Term Temporary Locum Consultant post for 12 months.
Responsibilities
* Provide a comprehensive oncology service at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with possible cross‑site working at Wycombe Hospital.
* Participate in clinics, MDT meetings and contribute to the Acute Oncology Service through AOS consultant ward rounds.
* Specialise in urology and breast: conduct 3‑hour clinics with 1 new and 6 follow‑up patients, aiming to see roughly 200 new patients per annum.
* Help recruit patients into clinical trials and will be fully supported by the Clinical Trials Unit.
* Possibly take on managerial or educational responsibilities, particularly the governance lead role.
* Participate in medical student teaching and supervision of junior doctors.
* Engage in clinical governance activities including clinical audit, risk management and quality improvement as required by the Trust and external accrediting bodies.
* Undergo annual appraisal and job plan review; 1.5 SPAs allocated for CPD required for revalidation.
* May be required to undertake other duties appropriate for a consultant oncologist not otherwise specified.
Qualifications
* Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register.
* Without CCT, a 6‑month fixed term contract can be offered, with possibility of extension for another 6 months, but cannot exceed 12 months in total.
