Role: Lecturer – Business – Accounting
Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 14.8 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Part Time
About the role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Business – Accounting to join our Business department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Course Delivery & Assessment – Prepares, delivers, and assesses the T-Level Accounting course, ensuring students meet awarding body standards and receive high-quality, engaging instruction.
* Student Support & Progress Monitoring – Guides and supports learners to reach their full potential, tracks progress, provides feedback, and adapts teaching to meet individual needs.
* Curriculum Development & Innovation – Develops and reviews schemes of work, contributes to curriculum innovation, and ensures learning materials are current, inclusive, and effective.
* Collaboration & College Engagement – Works with colleagues across campuses, participates in open days and promotional events, and contributes to quality assurance and course reviews.
* Compliance & Professional Standards – Upholds safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and engages in continuous professional development in line with TBCG values and policies.
About you
* Subject Expertise & Experience – Holds a relevant qualification at least one level above the course being taught, with recent experience delivering accounting education.
* Core Teaching Skills – Demonstrates excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to engage learners and support their academic success.
* Technical & Administrative Competence – Proficient in Microsoft Office, numeracy, and record-keeping, with the ability to handle sensitive data confidentially and meet deadlines under pressure.
* Professionalism & Teamwork – Builds strong professional relationships, contributes positively to team environments, and consistently upholds college values and policies.
* Flexibility & Safeguarding Commitment – Willing to travel across campuses and adapt working hours, with a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and maintaining appropriate boundaries with learners.
