Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join a reputable nursery in Oxford, providing high-quality childcare and education to children aged 0-5 years. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursery team, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced childcare professional to make a real difference in the lives of young children.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging and interactive activities, promoting learning and development in a nurturing environment
Provide emotional support and care to children, establishing positive relationships with them and their families
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised nursery environment, adhering to strict health and safety standards
Collaborate with the nursery team to ensure seamless daily operations, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive excellence in childcare
Develop and maintain accurate records of children’s progress, attending meetings and contributing to parent-teacher conferences as required
Required Skills & Experience
Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (or equivalent)
Proven experience working in a nursery setting, with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
First aid and safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake)
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo)
