Job Description
To be responsible for all design and technical aspects of projects ensuring delivery on budget and to programme.
This will entail effective management of external consultants together with the ability to communicate effectively with the wider United Living team and business partners.

A prestigious company specialising in electrical power infrastructure, grid connections, and renewable generation is searching for a talented Design Manager to lead their dynamic team. Responsibilities:
1. Lead a team of skilled design engineers and CAD technicians, fostering an environment of creativity and professional growth.
2. Oversee the development and updating of company design standards and manage the design process efficiently.
3. Being conversant with earthing systems, HV/LV equipment, jointing, Transformer and control switchgear to suit the environment suitable for each bespoke design for the ULC project for which we are engaged.
4. Produce comprehensive design packages for DNO contestable works and electrical balance of plant works.
5. Conduct and manage simulation studies to ensure compliance with Engineering Recommendations, the Distribution Code, and the Grid Code.
6. Represent the company in client meetings, projecting a professional image and building strong relationships
Qualifications
7. Proven experience in high voltage electrical engineering design (11 kV and above), preferably at the EHV level (66 & 132 kV).
8. A Degree in Electrical Engineering. A higher degree or postgraduate qualification in power systems is advantageous.
9. Working towards or have obtained professional registration with the IET at IENG / CENG level.
10. Exceptional technical knowledge with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively.
11. Excellent communication skills, capable of justifying design decisions and writing clear, concise reports.
