We are currently recruiting a passionate and practical Mechanics Instructor to join a specialist SEN provision in Dudley. This is an exciting opportunity to support learners aged 7-18 with a range of complex needs, including autism and SEMH, through vocational and hands-on learning.
About the Role
You'll deliver engaging mechanics sessions that help students build confidence, develop valuable skills, and gain vocational qualifications. Working in small groups, you'll provide structured, supportive learning in a safe workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver practical mechanics sessions tailored to individual learner needs
* Support students in developing vocational and life skills
* Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed workshop space
* Adapt lessons and support strategies for a range of SEN/SEMH needs
* Contribute to curriculum planning and track student progress
About You
* Industry knowledge or experience in motor vehicle/mechanics is essential
* Experience working with young people with SEND
* Positive, flexible, and resilient approach to managing behaviour and learning
* Previous SEN experience is desirable, but not essential
* Knowledge or experience of autism and/or SEMH is a strong advantage
