Embedded Software Engineers are responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of the embedded software used to manage and control ALL.SPACE’s terminal products. This includes embedded real-time control software, web interfaces, and REST API interfaces. The software engineer will work as part of an Agile team to deliver features according to a release roadmap, meeting product requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Perform requirements analysis by collaborating with stakeholders to understand technical functionality needed to meet customer needs.
2. Create architecture and design documentation for new software features.
3. Deliver high-quality, tested software features for an embedded real-time system using C++.
4. Implement automated unit and integration tests.
5. Test and debug functionality in simulation and on hardware.
6. Investigate and resolve software issues promptly.
7. Apply design patterns and best practices to ensure quality, security, modifiability, and extensibility.
8. Contribute to the team’s Agile practices and continuous improvement.
9. Experience in C++ development on embedded systems.
10. Proven success in delivering reliable, real-time embedded functionality.
11. Full lifecycle development experience: design, develop, test, maintain.
12. Knowledge of Linux and FreeRTOS operating systems.
13. Understanding of physical interfaces such as Serial, Ethernet, SPI, CAN, etc.
14. Experience with hardware debugging and performance characterization.
15. Familiarity with Source Code Management (git) and CI/CD pipelines.
16. Ability to generate documentation (Jira, Confluence).
17. Perform peer reviews and testing of colleagues’ work.
18. Effective collaboration within a high-paced Agile team.
19. Strong self-organization and attention to detail.
20. Problem-solving skills and teamwork orientation.
