Job Description
The IT Project Manager leads and manages technology projects across retail, hospitality, critical infrastructure, and security sectors. This role ensures the successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. The position requires effective coordination between technical teams, stakeholders, and external suppliers to deliver solutions that support business objectives and enhance operational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, initiate, and manage IT projects from conception through to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategic priorities.
2. Define project scope, objectives, milestones, and deliverables in consultation with stakeholders and senior management.
3. Develop detailed project plans including timelines, resource allocation, risk assessments, and contingency strategies.
4. Coordinate cross-functional teams including technical specialists, vendors, and business representatives to ensure project requirements are met.
5. Monitor and report project progress, managing risks, issues, and changes effectively to minimise impact on project outcomes.
6. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements, particularly relating to critical infrastructure.
7. Facilitate communication between stakeholders, maintaining clear and concise documentation and providing regular status updates.
8. Manage project budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring cost control and value for money.
9. Conduct post-project evaluations and identify lessons learned to improve future project delivery.
10. Support business continuity planning and disaster recovery initiatives related to IT projects.
Required Qualifications
11. Proven experience managing IT projects within retail, hospitality, or critical infrastructure environments.
12. Strong understanding of security principles relevant to IT infrastructure and project delivery.
13. Demonstrable knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
15. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise competing demands.
16. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience
18. At least five years’ experience in IT project management, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
19. Experience working in or alongside retail, hospitality, or critical infrastructure sectors that combine both Physical Security and Cyber / Network Infrastructure Security working together seemlessly
20. IT Infrastructure & Data Network Infrastructure Project Management experience.
21. Proven experience managing projects involving Physical Security & Network Security considerations and compliance requirements.
Knowledge and Skills
22. Comprehensive knowledge of IT infrastructure components and their integration within business environments.
23. Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and best practises.
24. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
25. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
26. Capability to assess risk and implement mitigation strategies.
27. Skilled in stakeholder management and negotiation.
Preferred Qualifications
28. Professional certification in project management such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, AgilePM, or PMP.
29. Experience with travel, leisure, tourism, or hospitality IT systems and infrastructure.
30. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting critical infrastructure and data security.
31. Experience in contract management and supplier relationship oversight.
Working Conditions
32. The role is based in Greater London and may require occasional travel to client sites within the region.
33. Full-time hours are expected, typically Monday to Friday.
34. Work is primarily onsite-based due to the nature of the initative it is working on, with flexibility for remote working depending on project requirements.
35. The role may involve periods of high demand requiring extended hours to meet project deadlines.
