Job Description
Amazon is at the forefront of innovation within fulfillment technology and robotics. We seek an innovative Operations Engineer to develop and deliver next-generation technology systems in our European fulfillment centers.
Within the Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience (MSP-CX) organization, we work backwards from customer needs, representing their voice throughout the product lifecycle—from development to deployment, support, and service—embodying Amazon’s Customer Obsession principle. Our goal is to transform stand-alone work-cells into integrated solutions that are safe, easy to operate, maintain, deploy, and service.
Successful candidates will have strong experience in technology development and testing with mechatronics equipment. This role involves managing schedule, scope, and cost planning for large-scale robotics projects across Europe, owning the deployment and support of MSP products, and driving continuous improvement in deployment cycle time, safety, quality, and hardware design.
The position requires building relationships, capturing customer feedback, and traveling across Europe (up to 75%).
Responsibilities
* Develop project plans and technical solutions.
* Influence internal/external teams and suppliers.
* Define technology strategies and plan installation of complex projects across functions and geographies, managing contractors and vendors.
* Support resource and budget planning, deployment standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Communicate program progress and performance to stakeholders.
* Travel as required for project execution.
Team and Culture
The CX team within MSP focuses on deploying and supporting MSP solutions, ensuring quality, readiness, and customer satisfaction across the product lifecycle, working closely with various internal teams.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or STEM field.
* Over 5 years of experience with automated/manual material handling equipment.
* Experience managing large projects and vendors.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CAD software.
* Ability to travel 75% or more.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s degree in engineering, operations, or related fields.
* Experience in logistics, distribution, or fulfillment processes.
* Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, or similar methodologies.
* Experience with automation solutions like material handling systems or manufacturing lines.
