Domus are looking for a dedicated Children’s Care professional to take the lead of a small Children’s Care Home supporting with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is a hybrid role offering on day per week working from home.

We are accepting applications from Senior Care Workers and upwards. You will have displayed a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Children’s Care Home setting and willing to work towards a Level 5 in Children’s Health and Social Care. Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager or established Registered Manager for Children’s services.

This care provider is a passionate family run organisation in West Yorkshire who put the children they support and their staff teams at the heart of everything they do. Key Responsibilities of an OFSTED Registered Manager:

1. Manage an Ofsted Registered Residential Home and ensure the efficient operation of the service following the relevant legislation, regulations, procedures, policies, and the Statement of Purpose for the home.
2. Assist and supervise in the continual assessment of the needs of the children and young people and to identify and prepare specific development plans to ensure the most appropriate service provision.
3. Help with the continual strive for quality care in the children’s home.
4. Oversee support staff ensuring the home complies with all aspects of the Children’s Act & surpasses National Minimum care standards.
5. Conduct staff supervision, appraisals, and safer recruitment of staff.
6. Lead the Home in maintaining a quality led service and ensuring all National Minimums standards and Ofsted inspection framework outcomes are fully compliant.
7. Promote and actively encourage the delivery of a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, promoting the young person’s independence and developing their life skills.
8. Support staff to achieve the highest standards of care for children and young people.
9. Co-ordinate and monitor casework and administrative functions of the home and evaluate standards of performance.
10. Liaise with parents, carers, staff, and other professionals to protect and safeguard the children.
11. Develop and manage a competent team of staff by showing leadership and guidance.

Key requirements an OFSTED Registered Manager must have:

12. Candidate must be willing to work towards their QCF Level 5 diploma in Management and Leadership in Health and Social for residential childcare or equivalent.
13. Have competent IT skills and ideally, also holding the Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce qualification or equivalent.
14. At least three years working in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff in Children’s services.
15. Experience providing health and social care and support to children with EBD.
16. A track record of successfully leading a staff team.
17. Strong knowledge on the expectations outlined by Ofsted.
18. Excellent knowledge of child protection procedures.
19. In depth knowledge of Quality Standards and Children’s Homes regulations.
20. Experience of leading, engaging, and motivating staff in a challenging organisational environment.
