Job Title: Showroom Manager, Kitchens
Location: Kendal, Cumbria, Lake District
Salary: £30k - £35k+ DOE per annum depending on experience + Benefits + Bonus

Role Overview
As a Showroom Manager, you will support and oversee our showroom, ensuring performance is sustained at its current level and optimized for continuous growth. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance and the correct implementation of company policies and procedures. You will lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve objectives.
Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in a Builders' Merchant environment, preferably within the Kitchens sector, either at local or national level. Experience in managing teams across various disciplines and career levels is essential. Knowledge of the Merchant trade, including Bathrooms, Plumbing, and General Building, is also required.
Key Responsibilities
1. General
o Working on special projects as required
o Providing out-of-hours support for alarm and CCTV providers, including being first on call for your branch
o Be a key holder for the branch
o Responding to and resolving customer complaints
2. People Management
o Lead by example and communicate effectively with staff
o Develop staff capabilities and address underperformance
o Delegate tasks effectively
o Manage staffing levels and resource allocation
o Recruit, interview, and induct new employees
o Manage payroll processes
o Handle disciplinary and grievance procedures with HR support
3. Branch Performance
o Complete stock takes and investigate variances
o Manage stock levels
o Ensure timely delivery and high customer service standards
o Maintain system housekeeping
o Develop supplier relationships
o Make trading and margin decisions within defined limits
o Coordinate stock use with other branches
4. Change and Improvements
o Propose and implement operational changes
o Apply fairness and consistency in decision-making
5. Health & Safety/Compliance
o Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
o Work with local authorities to ensure compliance
o Encourage staff responsibility for safety standards
o Monitor tachographs and driver hours
o Report incidents involving plant or vehicles
o Ensure accurate reporting of injuries
o Follow company procedures for banking and paperwork
o Complete monthly safety checklists
