Jackson Hogg Procurement division are pleased to be exclusively partnered with a global organisation, with headquarters based in Billingham, on the appointment of a Buyer to join their team, initially on a 6 month fixed-term contract basis.
The role will be based on site in Billingham with working hours of either 08.00-16.00 or 09.00-17.00 depending on preference.
Salary on offer is £(phone number removed) depending on experience.
This role requires attention to detail, strong processing and problem-solving skills, good organisation, task and timeline focus and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a pro-active mindset.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Procurement, Contracts, Projects and other key disciplines to ensure a robust RFQ process is followed when required and to ensure we drive savings and reduced lead times proactively as a standard business process model.
The Role:
* Order Fulfilment: Working closely with procurement, contracts, projects, to verify contents of PR’s to ensure they comply to the project requirements.
* Documentation: Work closely with the project teams to ensure all PR’s are provided with updated documents / drawings / specifications for suppliers to manufacture against.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in other departments, such as procurement, warehousing, logistics, projects, sales and customer service, to resolve issues.
* Communication: Communicate with suppliers and internal stake holders on any issues or concerns related to the buying operations and schedules.
* Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely and effective manner.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards governing procurement operations, including SHEQ and import/export requirements as required.
The Person/Specification:
* As this is a 6-month contract, we require someone immediately available that can start ASAP or within 1 week
* Proven experience working in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
* Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
* Strong organisational and problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external partners, suppliers and customers.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
