About the Role - Lecturer in Bricklaying & Multi-Skills
Are you a skilled construction professional looking to inspire the next generation? Our client, a leading Further Education College, is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Bricklaying & Multi-Skills to join their dynamic Construction and Motor Vehicle Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching across a range of construction programmes while contributing to course development and departmental growth.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning Excellence:
1. Deliver inspirational teaching across various programmes to learners of all ages and abilities
2. Create and maintain comprehensive teaching materials and electronic resources
3. Prepare schemes of work and assessment in line with awarding body requirements
4. Integrate Maths & English into vocational curriculum alongside colleagues
Student Support & Development:
5. Act as course tutor, supporting learners to achieve their individual targets
6. Track student progress and maintain detailed records
7. Provide regular feedback to students, parents/guardians, and employers
8. Coordinate and support work placement programmes
Recruitment & Promotion:
9. Assist with student recruitment and admission processes
10. Represent the college at internal and external promotional events
11. Contribute to marketing and publicity materials
Professional Development:
12. Build and maintain industry links with construction professionals
13. Engage in continuous professional development within your specialist area
14. Work collaboratively with awarding body representatives
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
15. Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Construction (Bricklaying qualifications highly desirable)
16. GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Experience:
17. Substantial, recent industrial experience in Bricklaying or Construction Maintenance
18. Proven ability to work with people of varying ages and abilities
Skills & Attributes:
19. Current Health & Safety knowledge for the construction industry
20. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
21. Strong organisational abilities with deadline management skills
22. High-level IT skills for creating teaching resources
23. Ability to motivate and inspire learners
24. Team-working capabilities and collaborative approach
