We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our dedicated team within our Supported Living services in Coventry.
Role Details:
1. Role: Support Worker
2. Pay Rate: £12.40 per hour
3. Shifts: Days and Nights
4. Hours: Full-time – 42 hours per week
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enabling adults with learning disabilities, including those with complex and profound needs, to live rich, meaningful, and self-directed lives.
This is a hands-on, person-centred role, focused on:
5. Delivering creative, therapeutic, and engaging support
6. Promoting independence, choice, and dignity
7. Supporting active community integration and social inclusion
You will work closely with individuals to understand what matters to them, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes identified in their personalised support plans.
Key Responsibilities:
8. Provide person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, and control
9. Support individuals to engage in meaningful activities, hobbies, and interests that enhance wellbeing and quality of life
10. Facilitate access to community facilities, groups, and mainstream activities
11. Deliver practical and emotional support, building strong and trusting relationships
12. Support daily living tasks including medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and record keeping
13. Use positive approaches to manage complex needs and challenging behaviours
14. Empower individuals to develop life skills and achieve personal goals
Person Specification:
Essential
15. Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, complex needs, and/or challenging behaviours
16. A compassionate, patient, and positive approach to care
17. Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for making a difference
18. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
19. Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and respectful manner
20. IT literacy and ability to complete care documentation accurately
21. You will be flexible, organised, and able to multitask, with a strong “can-do” attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality, values-led care.
Desirable
22. Full UK Manual Driving Licence
