Do you want to drive forward the circular economy and influence future waste legislation?
We’re looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Producer Responsibility team to help deliver the Government’s Resources and Waste Strategy.
You’ll work with Environment Agency colleagues, Defra, UK devolved administrations, and industry to deliver significant legislative changes. You can make a difference.
You’ll need to be adaptable, self-motivated, and able to translate policy into action.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Working closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the Environment Agency to influence and implement legislation for workstreams including Packaging and Deposit Return Scheme, with support to other workstreams as needed.
2. Providing technical advice within the Environment Agency and to industry.
3. Driving reforms to waste management, aiming to change how waste is managed in England, collaborating with like-minded individuals to achieve common goals.
We’re a dispersed team, working with various technical and project teams across the country. We use smart tools to stay connected and reduce travel, though some travel and overnight stays may be required.
The team
You’ll join our Producer Responsibility Team, which leads on reforming Waste Regulations to ensure the government’s ambitions to conserve resources by minimizing waste are achieved.

Experience and skills required
