Job Title: Bar Person/waiting
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager
Job Purpose: The smooth service of Food and Beverage in the Bars, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction, whilst following the set procedures / standards.
Daily Duties:
* To report to work on time, according to the rota, in the correct uniform in a presentable state, as set out in the staff handbook.
* Involves shift working including early, mid, & evening shifts.
* Must be available weekends and school holidays.
* Always conduct yourself in a professional manner with the utmost discretion at all times
* To follow the procedures set out in the Departmental SOP Manuals to ensure the cleanliness of the department is to the correct standard at all times.
* To follow the correct procedures, as set out in the SOP Manual to ensure the smooth operation of the department during service.
* To follow the correct procedures to ensure the preparation is completed every day to the required standards for the forthcoming Hotel and function demands.
* To follow the correct procedures in cleaning the beer lines, according to the set schedule.
* To be careful with glassware, to minimise breakages.
* To ensure that guest satisfaction is paramount at all times. Offer all customers and guests, polite, courteous and friendly service, and be prepared to go out of your way to help a customer – this includes having a general knowledge of all the facilities at the Hotel.
* To act upon instructions given by the Manager.
* To adhere to the statutory licensing legislation, and uphold the conditions of the Liquor licence at all times.
* To ensure a full stock of items is kept and that it is properly rotated. To control stock, and to order as necessary to the par levels.
* To be conversant with the wine list, and wine and beverage service.
* To "upsell" whenever possible.
* To be able to assist in the delivery of food orders to tables.
* Check the lounge areas regularly & clear any glasses & crockery etc.
* To be aware of the Hotel fire procedures, and to assist as and when necessary.
* To be aware of the Food Hygiene Safety Act 1990 and its implications in food service. To be aware of the Health & Safety Act and Fire Regulations.
* To ensure all compliments / complaints are reported to the Management.
* To report any maintenance issues, and any accidents to the Management.
* Confident and efficient operation of tills / room billing and cash handling, ensuring all goods taken by the customer are billed for.
* Any other reasonable tasks as requested by a Supervisor.
* To behave with responsibility around the Hotel at all times.
