RDM Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3 9DU About the role As the Senior Finance Officer for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, you will play a key role in managing the department’s financial operations. Working closely with the Deputy Business Manager and Finance & Grants Manager, you will oversee all aspects of non-research finance, including preparing data and analysis to support annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. You will maintain oversight of the department’s financial performance against budget, report on variances, and ensure compliance with the University’s financial regulations. In this pivotal role, you will supervise team members, support their professional development, and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes. About you You will be AAT qualified (or equivalent) and either working towards, or willing to work towards, a recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent. You will have strong experience using accounting software (e.g. Oracle, Sage, SAP) and advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis. You will bring a sound understanding of accounting principles, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high accuracy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a proactive, solutions-focused approach and a commitment to customer service. Experience supervising or supporting team members will be an advantage.
