We are seeking an inspiring, committed English Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Scunthorpe on a full-time, permanent basis. You will deliver engaging lessons raising attainment and fostering a love of literature and language.
Key responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated English lessons.
* Track progress, provide timely feedback, and implement effective intervention strategies.
* Contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and enrichment activities.
* Create an inclusive, safe, and purposeful learning environment.
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues.
* Participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives.
About you
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and degree in English or a related discipline.
* Evidence of successful classroom practice and strong outcomes.
* Excellent subject knowledge, pedagogy, and behaviour management.
* High expectations for all learners and a commitment to inclusion.
* Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to contribute to wider school life (clubs, trips, competitions).
