Overview
The CNC Programmer will create and maintain CNC programs to produce high-quality components. Duties include interpreting technical drawings, generating machine code from CAD/CAM files, preparing accurate quotations, and ensuring CNC machinery is set up and operated to company standards. Marine industry experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
* Create CNC programs from CAD/2D/3D drawings and set up machines, tooling, and materials.
* Optimise programs for accuracy, efficiency, and minimal waste.
* Prepare accurate quotations, estimating materials, machining hours, and tooling needs.
* Support production teams, advise on machining feasibility, and troubleshoot issues.
* Conduct inspections to ensure quality and compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
* Maintain program and setup records, and assist with preventative maintenance.
* Suggest process improvements and stay updated on CNC technology developments.
Qualifications
* Proven CNC programming experience with CAD/CAM knowledge.
* Marine industry experience preferred.
* Strong quoting and cost estimation skills.
* Excellent understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
* Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective teamwork.
Compensation
* Salary - £17.00-£18.00 per hour
