Design Engineer – Renewable Energy / Hydrothermal Technology Are you an experienced Design Engineer ready to take your ideas from concept to reality? This is a unique opportunity to help design and deliver cutting-edge technology that converts waste carbon into sustainable fuels, chemicals, and gases. In this role, you’ll play a key part in developing and optimising hydrothermal processing systems, from early-stage design through to commissioning of a pioneering green methanol plant. You’ll join a small but highly skilled engineering team, with the technical autonomy to shape projects and the chance to grow into a specialist or leadership role as the business expands. What you’ll do: Lead 3D modelling and design of high-pressure, high-temperature plant equipment (SolidWorks) Produce detailed fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs, and documentation Collaborate with process engineers and project teams to ensure feasibility and compliance Support prototyping, testing, and commissioning of innovative energy systems Ensure all designs meet safety and regulatory requirements (DSEAR, ATEX, ASME, etc.) Continuously improve designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and innovation About you: Relevant experience in hydrogen, oil & gas, pharma, or related industries Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes Proficient in SolidWorks, with experience in FEA and DFM (a plus) Skilled at designing equipment for high pressures and temperatures Degree-qualified engineer (Chartered or working towards chartership preferred) A proactive, detail-driven problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments What’s on offer: Competitive salary stock options Employer pension scheme Flexible working hours 26 days annual leave (plus bank holidays & your birthday off) Annual personal development budget Cutting-edge tools & hardware Chance to be an early team member in a fast-growing clean-tech company
