Our client, one of the leading names in the Energy sector are currently recruiting a Financial Reporting Accountant on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for the financial reporting for a specific region. You will generate financial reports and financial statements for key stakeholders and will deliver the financial reporting for your region. Duties will include: Preparation of statutory financial statements and quarterly management accounts Liaise and supply external auditors’ information regarding year-end consolidated financial statements and statutory financial statements Demonstrate a detailed understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation, reporting disclosures and group accounting policies, ensuring they are applied and upheld Compliance with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, ensuring financial controls are addressed within deadlines set Preparation of reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances in significant entities and assistance with review of Associate Accountants work Assistance in testing internal controls on a monthly basis Helping to establish best practice, standardisation and ways of working for all FRC legal entities Pro-active participation in/lead the coaching activities to the Associate Accountants within the team Identify areas of process improvements and propose potential solutions Work closely with the company finance community to resolve any financial reporting queries in a timely and effective manner Provide training, where required, on standard ways of working to colleagues within the company finance community Other ad hoc tasks and projects as required. Experience: You will be a qualified accountant or nearly qualified accountant, with audit and accounts preparation experience. You will have experience of IFRS and FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls and the audit process. You will be a self-starter with a logical approach to problem solving. You will have a proven track record of good quality accurate analysis and analytical review. Ideally you will have experience of working in or with large multinational companies and in a large team. Being able to understand and interpret financial reports and then communicating this data both verbally and in writing is important in this role. You will thrive on delivering high quality outputs, with a right first-time attitude and have good self-review skills.
