Pay: £90 - £103.90 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term-Time Only)

We are recruiting a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Nottinghamshire, located near Grantham (NG31). This role is ideal for candidates with a sports, coaching or fitness background who are looking to move into education and support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This SEMH Teaching Assistant position is well suited to individuals from sports coaching, athletics, personal training, youth work or mentoring backgrounds who can bring energy, structure and positive role modelling into the classroom. No formal teaching assistant qualification is required, as transferable skills and personal qualities are highly valued.
The school supports pupils aged 7-16 with SEMH needs, offering a therapeutic, structured and supportive learning environment focused on emotional regulation, resilience and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide 1:1 and small group support throughout the school day

* Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
* Promote a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working with young people in any capacity such as sports coaching, mentoring, youth work or fitness instruction
* Calm, patient and resilient personality
* Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
* Passion for supporting pupils with SEMH needs
* No formal Teaching Assistant qualification required
