As a Networks & Security Senior Officer, you will play a key role in protecting and strengthening the Council's technology environment. Working closely with the Network and Security Team Manager, you will help shape and deliver the Council's approach to cyber security, ensuring our infrastructure remains resilient, secure, and fit for the future.
You will lead on Security Vulnerability Management, acting as the Council's subject‑matter expert and providing both strategic and hands‑on technical guidance. This includes using modern tools and techniques to identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities across a complex enterprise environment.
Your work will involve collaboration with colleagues across IT&D and the wider organisation, helping to embed secure‑by‑design practices and ensuring remediation actions are implemented effectively. You will also support the secure day‑to‑day operation of our infrastructure, ensuring our platforms, systems, and devices are configured and maintained in line with security best practice.
This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and delivering innovative, practical solutions. You'll contribute to a range of projects using the latest technologies, all aligned to the Council's priorities: supporting vulnerable people, enabling communities, driving sustainable growth, and ensuring we make the best use of resources.
Your Application

Experience in security vulnerability management from detection to remediation.
Strong technical skills in security tools, firewalls, and compliance monitoring.

Effective workload management, record‑keeping, and customer communication.
Collaborative working and contributing to team development or mentoring.
