Overview
There is an exciting opportunity for a clinician to join the South Tyneside Psychiatric Liaison Team (ST PLT) based at South Tyneside District Hospital. We are a well-established team that provides care to people of all ages within a 24 hour service across 7 days. ST PLT provides responsive assessment and intervention to people experiencing a range of mental health needs. We provide direct clinical care within the Emergency Department, inpatient wards and some outpatient clinics, and we support South Tyneside residents who are experiencing delirium within their own homes. We work closely with CNTW colleagues and support seamless transitions of care across a multi-agency network. We are an inclusive and supportive team with a visible leadership presence and a strong multidisciplinary approach including pharmacy, psychology, occupational therapy, nursing and medical specialists.
We strive towards clinical excellence and hold accreditation with the Psychiatric Liaison Accreditation Network (PLAN). We are looking for applications from proactive and dynamic candidates who can evidence autonomous decision making and excellent communication skills. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of person-centred assessment and complex risk formulation, as well as in-depth knowledge about physical and mental health conditions.
We provide compassionate care based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity, and work as a member of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, individualised care that supports safety, recovery, wellbeing and maximised independence. We offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career within the modern NHS.
