We are currently looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Llanidloes to Assist the Canteen Manager to undertake all tasks within the canteen to ensure a high-quality service to all staff across the site.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:00am – 14:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Deputise for the Manager in their absence. Accept responsibility and be accountable for day-to-day activities.
Ordering of stock including raising/receipting PO's on SAP (covering Manager holidays/absence)
Continuously review menus
Preparing and cooking of food
Assist onsite events such as summer BBQ and staff Christmas dinner
Participate in on site engagement activities i.e. Free Breakfast Friday's / charity fundraising
Assist stock taking and product rotation
Serving of food and beverages
Collect monies and operate cash till
Cleaning of kitchen equipment, worktops, tables and floors
Report faults to Line Manager so they can be put right quickly to avoid downtime and potential loss of stock
Prepare Buffets / refreshments for on-site meetings
Comply with company health and safety standards at all times and ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy
Comply with food hygiene standards at all times
Comply with all COSHH and HACCP guidelines
Skills, knowledge & Qualifications:
Keeps up to date with relevant legislation affecting staff catering facilities
Previous kitchen experience
Previous experience assisting the running of canteen kitchen
Good verbal, written and numerical skills
Well organised
A team player
Self-motivated
Friendly individual with focus on customer service
Good PC skills
