THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment is working with a fantastic business based at Colburn Business Park in Catterick, North Yorkshire. The business manufactures specialist products using polyurethane and foam production processes and supports a range of production, testing, packing and inspection activities.
The company is looking for an Operator to join its Production Area. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will support production operations, machine set-up, product inspection, packing, documentation and general manufacturing duties.
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for setting up, adjusting and monitoring polyurethane and foam production machines, ensuring they are operated efficiently and safely.
Some of your duties will include:
12. Setting up and adjusting polyurethane and foam production machines
13. Monitoring machines for efficient and economical use
14. Reporting any issues immediately to the Team Leader or Head of Production
15. Loading chemicals into machines by hand, lifting equipment or forklift truck
16. Operating production equipment in line with standard operating procedures
17. Using equipment such as ovens, heated tables, degassing units and compressors
18. Processing standard company products including VBRs, bend stiffeners and seals
19. Completing job cards, maintenance records, calibration forms, scrap records, NCRs and housekeeping forms
20. Cleaning, priming, assembling and maintaining moulds
21. Reading and understanding basic manufacturing drawings
22. Inspecting products using measuring equipment
23. Assisting the Team Leader and Head of Production with production schedules
24. Assisting engineers with testing activities on and off site
25. Maintaining tools, vehicles, lifting equipment, forklift trucks and production equipment
26. Reporting any defects immediately
27. Packing goods ready for shipment
28. Assembling and building up components
29. Completing product inspection and record keeping
30. Controlling goods coming into the company and allocating them to the correct projects
31. Carrying out manual handling duties safely
32. Following all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies
33. Complying with company policies, procedures and instructions
34. Supporting a range of work to help the department respond to business requirements
35. Performing any other duties assigned by the Directors or Head of Production
THE PERSON
You will have a positive, practical and hands-on approach to work. You will be able to follow instructions carefully, work methodically and communicate clearly with colleagues across the production team.
This role would suit someone with experience in manufacturing, production, polyurethane, foam processes, product inspection or a similar hands-on environment.
