About Hinkley Point C The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan. What you'll be doing As a/an Project Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities: Lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice. Ultimately accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works. Define boundary of scope of works Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information Prioritisation and ownership of documentation to enable construction works as per plans. Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures Directly report to the Building Manager or nominated deputy. Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project. Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements Deliver Electrical Construction Workpacks to support the programme Enable the use of the Procon system to support the construction works and progress reporting of the program. Enable the requesting and compliance of project for the Work Authorisation and Permit systems.
